Shinnecock Fishing Report 7-18-21
Shinnecock
Fluke are throughout the bay and taking spearing, squid and gulp. The location of the bite changes regularly so be sure to move around if you're not catching. The flats have seen some nice keepers and in the inlet as well. Better action on the turn of the tide. Some striped bass taking live baits around the Ponquogue bridge. The seabass are cooperating out on the reef and taking clams and jigs. Have seen a few fluke on the reef too.
Peconic
Porgies still hanging tough out near Rogers rock and Jessups Neck taking clam baits. Weakfish are in the deep holes off of Long Beach and taking jigs and squid baits
Shorebound
The Shinnecock canal is still holding a few fluke to the south end and porgies north of the locks. The Shinnecock inlet has seen a few fluke taking gulp baits. The striped bass are not cooperating but a few decent fish do fall for a bucktail on the night tides. Also hearing of some triggers near the rocks. Out on the tip of the east jetty big porgies have been taking clam baits. Ponquogue bridge is producing a few fluke and schoolies sized bass. The bridge has seen some porgies out in the boat channel.
