Shinnecock & Peconic Report 4-24-22
Conditions are improving daily and the fish are beginning to cooperate. The back bay areas of both Shinnecock and Peconic bays are both seeing schoolie bass and weakfish being landed. Some just keeper size bass have been reported in the mix too. They are taking small paddle tail baits on a slow retrieve. The mag darters are working too. The fish are generally on the bottom and still a bit lethargic so any bait worked just off the bottom is the best choice.The surf should have
Easter Weekend 22' Report
First we want to wish everyone and their families a Happy Easter. Things remain fairly quiet in our area. Anglers are venturing out but not much in the way of reports back to the shop. We are continually hearing of the large amount of bait including spearing and bunker in both Shinnecock and Peconic bays. The Shinnecock Canal has been loaded with bunker on some days. April 10, 2022 Report
Things are still fairly quiet in our area but not for the lack of trying. We've had anglers out and about but most are still on the sweetwater. We still hear reports of the holdover striped bass in our warmer back bay waters but not much else.
We are open seven days and have plenty of stock to replenish your gear for the season. Be sure to drop off any gear for repairs or service while the wait is short
