Shinnecock bay/Inlet/Ocean The striped bass bite continues to be good, just not incredible like it has been. Drifted live baits in the inlet and around the Ponquogue bridge have accounted for some slot fish for the cooler. Outside the inlet the bunker schools are holding some bigger bass but you will have to search for the right school both east and west of the inlet. Fluking is getting better in the bay. Shinnecock Bay/Inlet/Ocean Incredible bass bite this week for the boater outside the inlet. Live lined bunker resulted in 40, 50 and even 60lb bass all released safely. The fish where on the bunker schools and moving east. The inlet and bridge have accounted for a good amount of bass as well on drifted live baits. Shinnecock bay/Inlet/Ocean The fluke bite has been hot and cold. Fish are now biting throughout the bay but just not consistently anywhere. A lot of that slip gut weed is hiding the baits. Wind and tide in same direction are key. Spearing, squid, gulp, fishbites all working. Striped bass are cooperating near the bridge and in the inlet. Drifted live baits are doing best. SHINNECOCK The striped bass bite has been great. Drifted live baits have produced some quality fish at both the inlet and Ponquogue bridge. Bluefish to 10lbs continue to ravage bait in and around the bridge and inlet. Jigs, tins and poppers are all working on the bluefish. The fluke bite continues to improve each day as the water temps rise. Fluke are biting well west of the bridge and beginning to happen east of the bridge.
