Fluke Opener Looking Good

Better reports have been filtering in most likely to the better weather. Reports have included striped bass, bluefish, porgies, fluke and weakfish.

Shinnecock bay, inlet and canal are all holding schoolie striped bass and some fluke. We did here of a report of the porgies showing in the Shinnecock canal as well. The striped bass are taking soft plastics with the better bite on the outgoing tides. Some better fish have come on night tides on swimming plugs. The fluke are always game for some squid and spearing combo or the gulp baits. Over in Peconic bay the porgies are in their regular spots up around Jessups neck and taking clam baits with a good amount of chum on the outgoing tide. The incoming tide has been dead. If you're just looking to target the schoolie striped bass you can hit any of the back bays and small inlets and you should have luck.

We are open 7 days with expanded hour now that the season is upon us.
