Surf Season Is Upon Us

Now with September in our grasp the stripers should be on their way along with some blues and hopefully albies too.

The bass bite has been getting better as of late. The Ponquogue bridge is holding some keeper size fish and the Shinnecock canal and the marinas and creeks have tons of 12 to 18 " fish; a good sign for next season.

There are still fluke bitting in the bay; the east cut, the basket, Rampasture point, and the Ponquogue bridge all have fish at one point or another during the day. You have to move around to find which spot they're at.

The Shinnecock canal has got loads of snappers and small seabass as well as some porgies at the jetties on the north end.

We haven't heard anything from the ocean yet. Today is the first day anyone could get out. I can only assume the fish ran deep during the storm and hopefully they'll be back.

We will again be running our annual Striped Bass Surf Tournament this year. Stop in to get more details.

The shop is fully stocked for the surf season and ready to roll.

See ya on the beach!!!
