Big Bass!!

Large stripers have been moving down the ocean beaches chasing the bunker schools. Snag and drop has been the best method, but trolling Mojo rigs through the schools is working too. The Ponquogue bridge is also holding some bass. Clam bellies for chum and whole clams on the hook is the best bet here.

Fluke bite in the bay has been decent. Spearing and squid or Gulp! in the usual haunts, east cut, west cut, the basket, and Rampasture. The ocean bite has been good as well, from 40 to 80 feet of water for the cheese house to Mecox and around the "C" buoy.

A good mix of keeper seabass is coming off the reef and the wrecks as well.

The Peconics is loaded with porgies. Find any hump or rock-pile and drop anchor and you'll fill the boat.
